By Lance White http://www.trueactivist.com/14-proven-ways-to-get-kids-to-eat-more-vegetables/ In good conscience, I find myself prompted to comment on this article: I have an entirely different view about "getting kids to eat their vegetables", than this article is promoting. First, we need to be empowered, not manipulated - especially the "kids", who in many cases know a LOT more than their parents! Second, it's no surprise that intuitively, kids don't want to put lifeless, poison-coated, GMO grown dying vegetables into their bodies, "the temple", since all things commune/communicate prior to and during consumption. It's a FACT that most vegetables are grown on land that was depleted from nutrients and phytonutrients decades ago, no crop rotation and no "recognition" of the truth that the soil is also a vital component - living organisms, that needs to be cultivated with respect and care. When machines run rampant over the soil, which to corporate "farmers" (armchair executives) is only needed to get the plants sold and into market. Food is not respected, it's sprayed with chemicals to make the plants LOOK or appear to be healthy, but no substance, and then sprayed with POISONS to kill weeds, insects, etc. Then, "commodities" are traded on Wall Street. What do you expect to get from it? You get what you put into it. The weeds, insects and soil are alive and have a spirit or essence of their own, which is not yet recognized by sleeping people, who only care about quantity and stock options. Without that basic respect and acknowledgment, dead people grow dead food for zombies at supermarket "chains". The chains are to keep the prisoners in by marketing techniques: hurry now, while supplies last; 20% off on all junk foods (smaller packages). So, don't tell me that kids don't SENSE that the poor excuses for food on their plates is simply dead and should be buried and eulogized! Take it outside and have a funeral. Now, let's talk about the "fun" in things: Vegetables that are nourished with LOVE, TALK to you! It's actually FUN to wash them, handle their bodies and commune while prepping. Many a carrot has amused me with their delightful images and fun banter! This is what "KIDS" (pseudo-adults looking down on intelligent souls in younger bodies!) KNOW. They want to PLAY with their food, because it's NATURAL. C'mon, folks, everything is alive and has a spirit, a deva, a life force and a personality. We're supposed to play with our food, out of love and our natural ability to commune! Have we all gotten so jaded that we've forgotten our childlike natures, fun spirit and playfulness? So this cr*p about following 14 RULES and then passing that onto your curious living children is ridiculous. Some of it is okay, but we're creating prisons of ourselves and of future generations, by not honoring the life force in all things. The bottom line: when I was a "kid", under the age of 11, my grandparents, who came to California in a covered wagon from Kansas, had an incredible small ranch. I was encouraged to work digging, planting seeds, hoeing, watering and eventually harvesting the food. There were also fruit trees of all sorts, luscious and laden with peaches, apricots, pears, persimmons and avocados that were SO drippingly delicious, flavorful and SWEET, not to mention plentiful, that I would stand there and eat them until full. Much of the "bounty" would fall off and rot to feed the soil and tree. Same with the (NON GMO) corn, that you couldn't stop eating, the green beans, okra, chard, pumpkins, etc. Grandma would have me pick the day's vegetables and would cook whatever we had plenty of. Nature is abundant beyond our wildest dreams, providing so much that it falls on the ground and rots, feeding the trees and birds and so on, for next season. Scarcity is an ILLusion! Anyway, I LOVED eating everything because it naturally tasted so incredible. Today, we have "super" market chains that ship enormous cargoes in trucks, picked by laborers that are not appreciated except for their low wages and lack of benefits, harvesting vegetables that have been planted by machines in soil that is "dissed" and sprayed with chemicals.
No communing with nature whatsoever. No thankfulness or care. Then, these plants are forced to grow with more chemicals and given just enough artificial nutrients to make them appear real. They're picked GREEN, not fully ripe and flavorful, because they never DO get flavorful without the subtle elements and phytonutrients from living soil. With me yet? Then, they are processed via machines, irradiated by machines, shlepped around like some kind of burden to be carried and a feeble attempt is made at the stores, once they get out of the boxes, to "fluff em up". Since you can't really do that, the lights are dimmed so you can't tell how sad, lifeless and gray they look. If each family or even one family member grew even a TINY bit, the world's food problems would be solved and nutritious, tasty foods would be the result. Then, we buy "growceries", take them home and in a huge rush, since numerous "jobs" are necessary to stay alive, they are NUKED in microwaves which kills the very last bit of life left. And then, a "True Activist" is telling us how we should shovel them down kid's throats by manipulation, coercion and lies. Yeah, right. I think the person who wrote this article, Amanda Froelich, needs to take a long look at what she's "selling us" and start communing with nature to see what's really going on. This is NOT my kind of "activism", though I'm sure Amanda has the best of intentions. This is why we must THINK for our SELVES. And the first thing to know is that all life is sacred and communicates, even if you think it's "nutty" that a vegetable may be smarter than the cook! Respect your kids and give them food that's delicious - problem solved. I had thought that the picture showed a kid barbecuing chicken, but it's eggplant. That doesn't change the fact that chicken is fed GMO food, hormones, antibiotics, stripped of feathers with foam that suffocates, which allows the label of "organic"? Do you know that corporations are busy trying to figure out how to grow chickens without feathers and cattle without legs? Don't get me started... http://www.trueactivist.com/14-proven-ways-to-get-kids-to-eat-more-vegetables/
